Arkansas Midwives

Midwives of Kansas City and St. Joseph is a new practice for 2010 combining Suzanne Ryan Midwifery Services, MamaSarah birth services and Awakening Birth services.  We have three Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNM):  Suzanne Ryan, CNM of Leavenworth, KS, Lisa Matthes of Lee's Summit, MO and Shari Stone-Ulrich, CNM of St. Joseph, MO.  Sarah Wallbaum, a doula, birth assistant and CPM student, is also an important part of our group specializing in nutritional care.  As CNM's, we are licensed in the states of Kansas and Missouri as RNs and CNMs, have DEA prescription authority if medications are needed, can offer ultrasounds, labs and visit in your home for all prenatal visits, delivery, and postpartum care at 2 days, 2 weeks and 6 weeks.  We only do home births and have a collaborating OB if you need a transfer.  We believe pregnancy is a normal occurrence of life and not a medical illness.  We offer a free initial consultation to discuss how we can make your next birth your best birth as 90% of our births are done in water with your partner being the first person to catch your little one!  Make this birth and future births special with a midwife- either with us or any other of the wonderful midwives in the KC and NW Missouri area.  Again, thank you for visiting our site and believing in midwifery care!
